The car was purchased new on January 24th, 1969 at A W Troutman Co. in Millersburg, Pa. The first 3 tanks of gas are recorded in the owners manual:
1/25/69 mileage 154.4 13.6 gallons of gas for $5.30
1/30/69 mileage 436 18.4 gallons of gas for $5.44
2/1/69 mileage 591 13.0 gallons of gas for $4.92
The original owner sold the car at about 22K miles. During that time the car was never raced, but he does admit that he revved the motor, let the clutch go, and filled the passenger compartment with smoke from the tires! He also said to have had the car up to 148 mph! (...but never raced...?)
At one point he thinks he hit an oil spot and the back end spun out behind him, and clipped a guard rail. This was repaired in Coatsville, pa. The minor repair was evident when I removed the paint and saw the repair. The right hand door had the lock punched out, and repaired, from a break in by an old neighbor.
He also added the popular luggage rack on the back when the car was 6 months old. I will also reinstall the rack (great look!).He kept the car well serviced, and had the original Quadrajet carburetor replaced by the dealership.
He eventually sold the car for $2250 to get a Spitfire. The dealer that bought the car, resold it for $4895.
That's about all I know up to this point!
